Accessing settlement reports - SFTP connection

Discover how to get your settlement reports automatically

Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) connection is Setel's automated method to deliver settlement reports to our partners.

How it works

  1. Report is generated at 01:00 AM (GMT+8).
  2. SFTP connection is made to the specified server.
  3. Report is sent to the server at 06:00 AM (GMT+8).

Detailed explanation

SFTP connection works by pointing to a specific server of the partner's choice. As such, partners will need to provide the address and access info during the SFTP connection setup.

The SFTP connection is tied to a specific merchant (identified by a merchant ID) so the report will be sent to the merchant only. A merchant can set up as many SFTP connections as needed, as long as each connection points to a different IP address.

Daily settlement reports will be sent automatically via SFTP connection (if there are transaction data) to a server of the partner's choice once a connection is successfully established.

Setting up SFTP connection

SFTP connection requires a one-time setup during the onboarding with the Setel Merchant Ops team.

To set up a SFTP connection, partners will need to provide the following information:

Field nameDescriptionFormat
Host addressThe IP address of the host server to receive the settlement report file.string
Port numberThe port number of the host server to receive the settlement report file.integer
UsernameThe username to access the host server.string
PasswordThe password to the above username to access the host server.string
Destination folderThe desired target folder where the settlement report file will be located.string

The SFTP connection created will be identified with a connection ID. After initial setup, the SFTP connection can be edited to change any of the information above, except the connection ID.

If the SFTP connection is deleted, a new connection with a new connection ID is needed to access the settlement report again - if no other connection is available.

Troubleshooting

  1. Partners might be required to whitelist Setel's IP address to be able to receive settlement report files. The exact IP address will be provided by Setel, if necessary.

  2. If there are no successful transaction data available during the time period when the settlement report collects data (from 00:00 AM to 23:59 PM (GMT+8) the previous day), no settlement file will be sent over the SFTP connection.
